The game is now done

Hey, Sam. Just read the title of this devlog. What's that all about?

You read it correctly! Yes, Journey of-

I know I read it correctly, I was just asking what you meant.

Okay, please don't interrupt me when I'm trying to talk to you. Thank you. Now what I was saying was yes, Journey of the Time Rocks has been released to the wild! And now, we shall wait and see if it gets mutilated by ravenous hyenas (gamers).

So why release it now?

Glad you asked! I released it because I feel the game is in a state I am satisfied with. With the previous update, the game was technically "done". The main narrative was implemented successfully, all necessary events to complete the game were added, but the game was missing some of the delicious juices I wanted.

What do you mean by "juices"?

With no juices, the game was dry, like a well-done steak (if you like your steak well-done, what the hell). All the player could really do was what was necessary to finish the game. There was next to no bonus content, or things to do. With this recent update, that has changed! There's now plenty more extra NPCs to talk to, with their own wacky things to say. Some of these NPCs include:

  • An apple!
  • A chuckling old man!
  • Construction workers fearing for their lives and careers!
  • And more (play the game and find out, hint hint) (only if you want to though, no pressure)!

So now what?

Well now, we sit and relax. Right now, I am satisfied with this game. It is out, it works, and I had fun making it (despite the sleep deprivation). And because I am satisfied, updates will not be coming out anymore. That is, unless I grow unsatisfied, and wish to make changes. But whether or not that will happen is unknown. Despite my affinity for being a cool individual, even I cannot predict the future. If this is the last time we talk about this game though, then thanks a bunch for reading these devlogs and playing the game! I hope you enjoyed it, and hopefully, we'll talk again soon (but about another game maybe, haha)!
